Gurgaon, May 27 : Gurgaonites may heave a sigh of relief as far as condition of roads in the city are concerned, as Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) has claimed to carry out the repair work in not more than 24 hours of receiving a complain.

"We have made a provision according to which the contractor who has constructed the road, will have to repair the road within 24 hours of receiving the complain. The mobile number of contractors is pasted on a board mentioning the name of the contractor's company along the road constructed by it," HUDA Administrator S P Gupta told ANI.

A resident of Sector 22 of Gurgaon once called up on the contractor's mobile and she was surprise to see that road repairing work was carried out within 18 hours.

Commenting on the pathetic sewage condition in the south city of Gurgaon, Gupta, who is also the recipient of Pradarshini Award for Best Administrator, said: "The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) while constructing express highway was suppose to look into the sewage issue, but they ignored the vital aspect. Now, we are working on it on war footing and expect that the menace will be resolved very soon."

HUDA is also trying its bit to provide 'dream home' to common man, as the prices of residential plots and flats has increased exponentially during last three to four years.

"In our efforts to provide affordable dwelling units to the common man, we are constructing around 100 thousand flats in the city," he said.

He went on to say that as many people resell their houses after getting its ownership from the government agency, HUDA has made a clause according to which the ownership of the house will only be transferred after the purchaser spent at least 15 years in it.

In the area of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the authority is constructing a 100-bedded hospital in the city, which will be completed in another one month of time.

On formation of Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in IMT Manesar, he said there are no controversies surrounding the proposed SEZ, and moreover, the project is under jurisdiction of HSIDC (Haryana State Industrial Development Council).
