The ruling DMK party in Tamil Nadu today nominated Chief Minister M Karunanidhis daughter Kanimozhi to contest for one of the Rajya Sabha seats from the State.

Chennai, May 26 : The ruling DMK party in Tamil Nadu today nominated Chief Minister M Karunanidhi's daughter Kanimozhi to contest for one of the Rajya Sabha seats from the State.

Kanimozhi's nomination comes after the recent feud in the party that saw Union Telecom minister Dayanidhi Maran's exit from the Cabinet.

DMK is contesting two Rajya Sabha seats from the State, and has left one seat each to Congress and the CPI.

Kanimozhi's election is certain and so the other three seats from where DMK coalition members will be contesting.
