At least 27 people were killed and five injured when the compound wall of a bar collapsed in Anupparpalayam in Tamil Nadus Coimbatore District late on Wednesday night.

Coimbatore, May 24 : At least 27 people were killed and five injured when the compound wall of a bar collapsed in Anupparpalayam in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore District late on Wednesday night.

According to the police, the accident occurred when the 22-foot high wall adjoining a vacant plot collapsed over the makeshift building being used by the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC) to run a liquor shop-cum-bar.

The injured are undergoing treatment at the Coimbatore District Hospital and at the Government Hospital in Tirupur. The dead bodies are yet to be identified. ANI)
