Polling on in Uttar Pradeshs Khaga constituency

Polling for Khaga constituency in Uttar Pradeshs Fatepur District is underway since this morning amidst tight security.

Khaga, May 24 : Polling for Khaga constituency in Uttar Pradesh's Fatepur District is underway since this morning amidst tight security.

Voting in this constituency was countermanded following the death of former Uttar Pradesh Minister and Congress candidate Munna Lal Maurya in a road accident on April 25.

Mourya's car collided with a truck at Umra village near Khaga. He was returning to Fatehpur after campaigning in his Assembly constituency. One of his supporters was also killed in the mishap, while his bodyguard and two other fellow travellers were seriously injured.

Mourya was a Minister in the 13th State Assembly.

The counting of votes for Khaga constituency will take place on May 28 and the election process will be completed by May 31.
