Court to hear bail plea of Dawoods sister

A Sessions Court will today take up the bail plea of underworld don Dawood Ibrahims sister Haseena Parkar, who is wanted in an extortion case.

Mumbai, May 23 : A Sessions Court will today take up the bail plea of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's sister Haseena Parkar, who is wanted in an extortion case.

Haseena on Tuesday filed an anticipatory bail application before the court.Parkar was not arrested on her appearance before the court despite a non-bailable warrant against her and other persons for their alleged involvement in a case of extortion, cheating and forgery.

The Anti-Extortion Cell of the police, investigating the complaint filed by a real estate agent Vinod Avalani had obtained non-bailable warrants against Parkar, her bodyguard Mohammed Shamim Khan, her driver Salim Ahmed Sayyed and builders Arshad Shafi Shaikh and Maqsud Fakir Mohammed Ansari.

Parkar's brother Dawood Ibrahim, a suspected Mumbai mafia don, is believed to be behind the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts. Officials say Ibrahim is believed to be hiding in Pakistan, but Islamabad denies this.
