In Ayodhya, Brahmins hold religious ritual for Mayawatis success

A religious fire ritual-prayers (Yagna) was performed here by Brahmins to keep all evil forces away from new Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mayawati.

Ayodhya (UP), May 20 : A religious fire ritual-prayers (Yagna) was performed here by Brahmins to keep all evil forces away from new Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mayawati.

The three-day Yagna concluded on Saturday with former ardent supporters ofharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the political opponent of Mayawati, participating in a big way.Among the participants were the head priest of Ram Lala shrine, Acharya Satyendra Das, the Mahant of Hanumangadhi, Dharamdas, the Mahant of Fort Jamwatra, Awadh Ram Das and Tulsi Peetadhishwar Narayanachari.

The head priest of Ram Lala shrine, Acharya Satyendra Das said the rituals have been performed to protect Mayawati and enable her to govern wisely.

"People of Uttar Pradesh have given mandate to Mayawati and the rituals have been performed to keep all evil forces and problems away from her. The subjects of a State are happy only if their ruler is free of problems," noted Acharya Satyendra Das, head priest, Ram Lala, Ayodhya.

The Acharya of Shanidham and famous astrologer, Swami Haridayal Mishra who mooted this Yagna added that Mayawati was sworn in on May 13, at 1300 hours, and since the figure of 13 is considered unlucky, so they had to perform the rituals.

BSP's Saligram Sagar hailed Mayawati's fourth innings as a Chief Minister and termed it as the fulfilment of Dr. B R Ambedkar's dream.

"It is the responsibility of religious leaders to show the right path and to hope for the betterment of the ruler and the subjects. Mayawati has been sworn in for the fourth time to be the Chief Minister of U.P. and has made the dreams of Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar come true," said Sagar.
