The National Executive of the All India Minorities Front (AIMF) on Saturday adopted a resolution for electing an Other Backward Class (OBC) woman as the next President of India.

New Delhi, May 19 : The National Executive of the All India Minorities' Front (AIMF) on Saturday adopted a resolution for electing an Other Backward Class (OBC) woman as the next President of India.

The National Executive met under the Chairmanship of AIMF National President S M Asif.

The AIMF also urged all the political patties to arrive at a consensus on supporting reservation for OBC women in Parliament and State Legislatures.

The AIMF feels that when all political parties are in favour for OBC reservation and also support the Women Reservation Bill, it is high time that all parties reach a consensus on a woman belonging to the OBC community to be the next President, the AIMF said in a press release.

Asif has been assigned to take up the matter with the leaders of all political parties.
