At least five persons were injured in a bomb blast triggered by the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) near the Guwahati Central Jail in the busy Fancy Bazaar area today.

Guwahati, May 18 : At least five persons were injured in a bomb blast triggered by the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) near the Guwahati Central Jail in the busy Fancy Bazaar area today.

The wounded have been admitted to hospital, and police has cordoned off the area for further investigations.

According to preliminary evidence, the bomb was found underneath a cycle rickshaw.

The blast was the second in four days. Earlier on May 14, two persons were killed and eight injured by a bomb blast that followed ethnic clashes in eastern Assam the day before.
