The Centre is mulling to enact a law to regulate all private detective agencies in the country in order to ensure that they work within the ambit of law.

New Delhi, May 15 : The Centre is mulling to enact a law to regulate all private detective agencies in the country in order to ensure that they work within the ambit of law.

The Central Government would soon table a bill in this regard in the Parliament, which would also make private detective agencies accountable to a regulatory mechanism.

"A bill in this regard is likely to be introduced in Parliament shortly," said Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal.

At present, the government does not have any regulator to regulate the activities of the private detective agencies.
