Patna, May 12 : A Bihar's legislator's teenaged daughter has been abducted from Muzaffarpur, 70 kms from here, and the abductors have demanded a ransom of one crore rupees from the legislator's family.
Independent legislator Dinesh Prasad Singh's daughter Nishi Kumari was allegedly abducted on May 4, but his family filed a complaint today in which they have accused five people, including a village Panchayat head, for the abduction.
According to police, the MLA, whose wife is a party worker of opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), received the ransom call on Thursday night and presently a search operation is being conducted to trace the girl.
The abduction racket in Bihar continues to grow in spite of incumbent Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's assurance of curbing anti-social activities in the State.
