Some of the Government files have been reportedly torn in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly House by some people under the instructions of Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan.
Lucknow, May 11 : Some of the Government files have been reportedly torn in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly House by some people under the instructions of Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan.
A heap of torn papers that are part government files were found littered in the Assembly House today as the counting of the votes took place today which showed SP's arch rival Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) heading towards clear majority.
However, officials have termed it as a routine exercise and have said that the torn papers were 'waste'.
"It is a ritual whenever there is a change in the government. There are no official files in this. I am responsible for these files. We have submitted all the official files. These are all waste papers which are going to the bin," said Anwar Masood, personal assistant to Azam Khan.
However, the incident has been noted by BSP supremo Mayawati, who today called the DGP, and asked him to inquire in to it immediately.
She also promised to launch a high level inequity into the incident and said that all actions would be taken against the acts of impropriety committed by the outgoing Samajwadi Party Government.
