The pioneer of the so called 'Indi Pop' as we all know it today, Apache Indian is back yet again with another foot tapping, hip shaking album 'Sadhu - The Movement', released on Tips Music.
Apache Indian has recently signed an International Recording & Management contract with the Tips, who are determined to bring Apache back to the Indian market in big way. Tips has already featured Apache in their recent film 'Dil Apna Punjabi' which has received worldwide acclaim and have more films & albums in the pipeline for him.
Apache Indian has been instrumental in taking the 'Indi Pop' scene to where it is today with songs like 'Chokthere', 'Arranged Marriage', 'Boomshackalak' 'No Problem' etc. Recently, he collaborated with Jazzy B for the track 'Dil Lutiy' that took the world by storm!
Apache Indian is recognized as the first true asian international mainstream artist, he is the only artist of an Indian origin to have seven top forty hits in the UK charts. The first DJ of an Indian origin on National Radio 1, nominee to the Brit Awards four times,, hosting his own show on MTV and Channel 4 are few of the many feathers in his cap.
Apache songs have been featured in 8 Blockbuster movies including Dumb & Dumber & Scooby Doo 2 and in over 75 International TV commercials. Apache has shared the stage with renowned artists like Maxi Priest, Shaggy, Pras from The Fugees, Boy George, Luciano, Desmond Dekker, Yami Bolo, Tim Dogg & many more.
In his 18 year music carrier, Apache has toured the world & performed in over 25 countries last year with his live band 'The Reggae Revolution'.
Commenting on the launch of the album, Apache says that 'Sadhu-The Movement' is hard core of Reggae music that unveils the Indian cultural influences on theJamaican music and way of life".Apache now resides in Goa where he has set up a Sadhu Rasta Camp.
The album consists of 14 tracks and the title track has been composed by Sachin Gupta. 'Sadhu - The Movement' is now available in stores with the audio cassettes and CD's priced at Rs.65/- and Rs.160/- respectively.
