The Centre on Tuesday confirmed abduction of 12 Indians, including two women and two children, in Nigeria, belonging to private company-- INDO RAMA.
New Delhi, June 5 : The Centre on Tuesday confirmed abduction of 12 Indians, including two women and two children, in Nigeria, belonging to private company-- INDO RAMA.
The Managing Director of the company is also among the abducted people.
The External Affairs Ministry said negotiations are being carried by the company, while the Indian High Commission is facilitating evacuation of families whose kin have been kidnapped.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will be meeting Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo on June 8 in Berlin on the sidelines of G-8 outreach summit.
Meanwhile, Nigeria has issued security advisory to the Indians living in that country. Forty Indians are still working in the company.
