New Delhi, June 04: The Supreme Court today issued a notice to Raninder Singh, son of former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh in connection with the multi-million-rupee real estate Ludhiana City Centre scam.
Justice Arijit Passayat and Justice D K Jain issued the notice after hearing a petition filed by the Punjab Government.
The court will take on the case on June 11 and will take a decision on the petition filed seeking quashing of anticipatory bail granted to Raninder by the Punjab and Harayana High Court.
On May 28, Singh accompanied by his wife and Lok Sabha MP Preneet Kaur and brother Malwinder Singh appeared before the Punjab Vigilance Bureau,
Within a month of Akali Dal leader Parkash Singh Badal assuming power in the State, on March 18, the bureau booked Amarinder Singh and 18 others for alleged corruption and cheating in connection with the scam.
The alleged wrong-doings in the multi-crore project, being developed by the Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) along with its joint venture partner 'Today Homes' on a 25.5 acres of prime land was exposed by media recently.
