Jammu, June 4 : The Army on Monday shot dead four armed militants trying to infiltrate the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu's Rajouri District.
A group of six militants were reportedly trying to enter Indian territory through in Tarkundi forward belt in Rajouri from Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK).
After intercepting the infiltrators, security personnel exchanged gun fire with them in which four militants were killed. Two fled back into Pakistan.
The identity of the militants and their link with any group is being ascertained, said officials.
During the search operation, security forces have recovered four AK-47 rifles along with 21 magazines, 310 rounds of ammunition, four UBGL, nine hand grenades, a wireless set, an antenna and three wire cutters.
This was the fifth infiltration bid foiled in the last 10 days. Three militants who tried to infiltrate near the LoC in Sabre Gali area of Mendhar belt of Poonch District, were shot dead on May 30.
