Jaipur/New Delhi, June 4 : A Gujjar leaders' delegation headed by Gurjar Arakshan Sangharsh Samiti convenor Colonel (retired) Kirori Bainsla will meet Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje Scindia at her Civil Lines residence in Jaipur in a short while.
The meeting was scheduled for 10:00 a.m., but has been delayed for some reason.
Meanwhile, Bainsla has appealed all Gujjars to stop their agitation.
Raje and members of her cabinet will hold a fifth round of talks with the Gujjars over their demand for Scheduled Tribe status, in a last ditch effort to end the tension in the State.
The State Government has invoked the National Security Act (NSA) in 14 districts.
Thousands of Gujjars have blocked the Jaipur-Agra, Jaipur-Kota and Jaipur-Delhi.
The Union Home Ministry is in constant touch with the Rajasthan Government and has sent an advisory to the Governments of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Delhi to remain alert.
The State Government has announced a compensation of Rupees five lakh to the kin of those killed in police firing on May 29.
The Gujjar community currently comes under the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category.
