Two ships are still stranded on Gujarats Porbandar coast after losing anchor in strong winds.
Porbandar (Gujarat), June 27 : Two ships are still stranded on Gujarat's Porbandar coast after losing anchor in strong winds.
The Coast Guard officials said the vessels, buffeted by rough weather, ran aground after their anchor broke.
They further said that rescue operations are likely to continue to avert an oil spill.
"If the ship keeps standing here it will obviously cause pollution and there is danger to the lives of the people on board. Our top priority is to rescue people and take the ship to a safer place," said Navdeep Bakshi, the Coast Guards Commanding Officer in the area.
Some crewmembers are still trapped on the ship.
The authorities have warned the crewmembers to stay on board.
