Two soldiers of the Indian Army were paraded naked through the streets in Kunan village of Jammu and Kashmir today for allegedly trying to rape a 17-year-old girl.
Kunan/Srinagar, June 27 : Two soldiers of the Indian Army were paraded naked through the streets in Kunan village of Jammu and Kashmir today for allegedly trying to rape a 17-year-old girl.
Villagers levelled allegation that the soldiers were "caught trying to rape" the girl.fter which they beat up the soldiers, stripped them, shaved their heads and paraded them naked in the village market.
Police, meanwhile, said that it is investigating the incident.
Eyewitnesses said that police had to fire to disperse the protesters and rescue the soldiers.
Army said that an enquiry has been ordered into the allegations.
"The army has already ordered a court of enquiry and would like to assure that it will be a thorough enquiry, impartial and in case somebody has done a mistake, army would not condone this mistake," Lt.Gen. S.S.Sekhon, General Officer Commanding of an Indian Army battalion said.
