Cathay Pacific Airways, one of the world's leading airlines, has announced a special deal for passengers travelling to Southern China's Pearl River Delta (PRD). On flying Cathay Pacific through its hub, Hong Kong, travellers can connect seamlessly with the high speed ferry to Macau or Shenzhen using the SkyPier at Hong Kong International Airport. The SkyPier provides speedy Ferry Transfer service for transit passengers, making Hong Kong International Airport a truly multi-modal international transport hub, with sea, land and air travel.
"As our passengers will discover, using SkyPier is the smart way to travel to the PRD. By transiting Hong Kong, they can have their baggage checked up to their final destination and will only have to clear immigration at their final port in Macau or Shenzhen. This special initiative is part of our endeavour to make life easier for our passengers and we do hope they will find it advantageous," said Mr. Tom Wright, General Manager, Cathay Pacific Airways.
In addition, from now until August 31, Cathay Pacific will offer a super deal on travel to Macau and Fuyong in Shenzhen, China via Hong Kong. Passengers who purchase a ticket to Hong Kong under the airline's special travel scheme to the PRD can avail of a free return ticket on the Turbo Jet Ferry service to either Macau or Shenzhen.
The Pearl River Delta is an extensive low-lying area formed by the junction of the Xi, Bei, Dong, and Pearl (Zhu) rivers in southern Guangdong province, China. It covers an area of 2,900 square miles (7,500 square km) and stretches from the city of Guangzhou (Canton) in the north to the Macau Special Administrative Region in the south. The Mainland's economic powerhouse, it is fuelled in large part by foreign investment coming from Hong Kong manufacturers who have moved their operations here.
