Security forces today shot dead three Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militants in Uri sector of the Kashmir Valley when they were trying to cross the Line of Control (LoC).
Srinagar, June 24 : Security forces today shot dead three Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militants in Uri sector of the Kashmir Valley when they were trying to cross the Line of Control (LoC).
Three AK-47 rifles and other ammunition were recovered from their possession, an official spokesperson said.
Meanwhile, eleven police personnel were injured when their vehicle carrying them was blown up at Palampur area near here in the wee hours today.
According to police, the explosion took place when the vehicle of anti-insurgency special operation group hit an improvised explosive device (IED).
"11 police personnel were injured in the attack. They have been admitted to hospital," a police official said.
No militant group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
