Thai Prime Minister General Surayad Chulanont will reach New Delhi tomorrow for his three-day tour of the country.
New Delhi, June 24 : Thai Prime Minister General Surayad Chulanont will reach New Delhi tomorrow for his three-day tour of the country.
India and Thailand will sign two agreements on enhanced cooperation in the field of renewable energy and on a cultural exchange programme during Thai Prime Minister's visit.General Chulanont will be accompanied by his Foreign Minister Nitya Pibulsonggram, Commerce Minister Krirk-Krai Jirapaet and Energy Minister Piyasvasti Amranand.
He will hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on June 26 and a banquet will also be held in his honour on the same day. The visiting dignitary will also call on President A P J Abdul Kalam on June 26.
External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath, the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for New and Renewable Energy, Vilas Muttemwar and the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, L.K.Advani are expected to meet him during his stay here.
The Prime Minister of Thailand will address a business summit hosted by the CII, FICCI and the ASSOCHAM on June 26.
He will be visiting Varanasi, Sarnath and Kolkata, and his visit coincides with the 60th anniversary year of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Trade between the two countries surpassed the three billion dollar mark in 2006.
