Jammu, June 24 : Shiv Sena activists disrupted a news conference of Zafar Iqbal, chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, a constituent of moderate faction of the All Party Hurriyat (Freedom) Conference, here today.
At least 20 Sena activists stormed into the venue of the conference minutes after it started and raised slogans against Iqbal and Pakistan.
The activists pushed Iqbal, as security men guided him to safety.
Iqbal is on a tour of Jammu, Poonch and Rajouri.
This is the third time when Shiv Sena tried to disrupt a news conference of a separatist leader in Jammu.
Anand Sharma, chief of Shiv Sena's Jammu and Kashmir unit, said: "The news conference was being addressed by Zafar Iqbal, a former militant. He was the area commander of Hizbul Mujahideen. He was responsible for the killing of a number of Hindus".
"These fundamentalists want to intrude into Jammu and spoil its environment. Shiv Sena will not let these people do this," said Sharma.
Sena activists also ransacked the venue of the news conference.
