New Delhi, June 24 : Police busted a major fake visa racket, and seized 25 fake passports and over 150 fake visas from a person here on Sunday.
The person from whom fake visas were seized was also taken into the police custody.
Fake visas seized from Bhupinder Singh included 114 of Europe, 12 Korean, seven each of U.K., Slovenia, Malaysia and Switzerland, 25 of the U.S., three Mexican and nine Senegalese.
Singh was arrested in 2005 on similar charges, but after securing bail in 2006, he resumed his racket with impunity.
"After interrogation we raided his hideout and recovered incriminating material including a laptop, spare hard disk, scanner, printer, fake dies and holograms etc," said Alok Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of a Special cell of Delhi Police.
Kumar said more arrests could follow on the basis of further investigations.
"In fact he (the accused) is in touch with some agents. He basically makes fake visas, stickers and holograms etc. We are interrogating about the agents involved in the racket," he said.
