A high-level delegation led by Thailand Commerce Minister Krirk-krai Jirapaet will begin a visit to the North Eastern Region from today to boost cooperation.
New Delhi, June 22 : A high-level delegation led by Thailand Commerce Minister Krirk-krai Jirapaet will begin a visit to the North Eastern Region from today to boost cooperation.
Minister for Development of the North Eastern region (DoNER) Mani Shankar Aiyar will accompany the delegation.
During their four-day visit, the delegation will go to Agartala, Guwahati and Shillong. They will have detailed discussions with Ministers of Industry and Commerce.
The delegation will also acquaint themselves on various issues related to handicraft, handloom, power, roads, tea, tourism and horticulture. Interaction will be held between officials and businessmen of Thailand and India.
Thailand and India have lot of similarities in geographical and biodiversity features.
It would be a great advantage to North Eastern Regions, if, Thailand can partner in areas of road construction, river transport, rubber industry and silk industry.
