Hyderabad, India: 22 June 2007: "Vidhyaadhaanam sarva dhaana pradaanam". Among all forms of charity, charity for Education is the noblest. "Give a human being a fish to eat, you feed him for a day. Teach him to fish, you feed him for life". Gifting a child value education gives the child a headstart in life. Founded on this aim, Nandalala Seva Samithi, a Chennai headquartered Socio-religious Cultural Trust founded in 1988 with Chapters all across India including Hyderabad now embarks on a mega project to set up a Primary School with a total project outlay of Rs 3 crores. The primary objective of it to serve underprevilaged children while catering to the needs of regular students, so that the sustainability of the project is ensured.
Addressing a press conference organised here in the city today on the occasion of the19th Anniversary Celebrations of the Trust, the trusts Founder and President Ms. Mathi Oli R. Saraswathy said the land for the project is already aquired. And the school will be ready for functiong from the academic year 2008. The requisite funds are mobilised through and among members of the trust and other philatrophic donors.
We at our trust are committed for the cause of underprevileged children and women. Over the last two decades or so the trust has taken up many initiatives including sanctioning scholarships among other things. So far, over 10,000 children across the country have benefitted from it. The criterion for the scholarship to the children from economically deprived families is on the condition that the child should not fail in the exams. Only one child per family can avail the scholarship, in order to widen its reach. In addition to funding for education, the Trust also offers Scholarship for extra-curricular development like Drawing, Painting, Music adn Sports. School children from remote areas are provided free stationery(notebooks, text books, pencils, erasers, pens etc).
Besides the above the Trust strives to create awareness for General Knowledge, distributes free of cost Education Software developed by Microsoft Corporation, set up a Children's Club to nurture the young minds to live in harmony with Nature and also founded Kshana Kshana, Bangalore a Children's Cultural Centre. The trust also takes up so many other initiatives feeding the poor, providing milk to the needy etc. All these are spread over across India.
Nandalala Seva Samithi Trust's Hyderabad Chapter plans to celebrate the 19th Anniversary Celebrations of the Trust in the city on 24th June at Bhaskara Auditorium. Divine Art, an exhibition of paintings by artists of Tamilnadu for a noble cause is also being organised between 25th and 27th June At Saptaparani, Plot No. 21, Road No. 8, Banjara Hills next to Kalpa school. It will be inaugurated by Mrs. Chandana Khan, IAS, Commissioner of Enquiries, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh on 25th. The Guest of Honours will be, Mr. P.Gopalakrishnan, Chartered Accountant, Senior Partener P.W.C. and Mr. M.R. VIkram, Chartered Accountant, Indian Overseas Bank, on 26th and 27th respectively.
