The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today gave its approval for the extension of the Centrally sponsored Swayamsidha, a women empowerment scheme, for one year upto March 31, 2008.
New Delhi, June 21 : The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today gave its approval for the extension of the Centrally sponsored Swayamsidha, a women empowerment scheme, for one year upto March 31, 2008.
The CCEA also gave the permission to utilize the funds to the tune of Rs.27.81 crore available under the Scheme as on March 31 during the extended period.
The extension of time would ensure the completion of unfinished tasks in order to sustain outcomes of the project.
The 'Swayamsidha' or the Integrated Women's Empowerment programme (IWEP) was launched in the Women's Empowerment Year (2001).
