New Delhi, June 21 : Chairman of Chiefs of Staff Committee and Chief of Army Staff General JJ Singh will begin his nine-day official visit to France and the UK from June 24.
This visit comes at a time when India's defence cooperation with these important European countries is at an all time high.
The joint activities that the Services are undertaking with France and the UK encompass visits, joint exercises, training exchanges, equipment procurement and participation in seminars and conferences.
The visit will also add the necessary impetus to the defence relationship and broad base it further into a mutually beneficial partnership.
During his visit, General J J Singh will interact with senior military and civilian defence hierarchy and discuss various contemporary defence related issues between our countries.
In addition, visits to important Joint Service bases and Operational Head Quarters have also been planned. He will pay homage at France's Neuve Chappell, a memorial in the memory of the Indian soldiers who laid down their lives during the World War.
General J J Singh has also been invited to address an elite audience at International Institute of Strategic Studies in London on 'Indian Armed Forces: Present and Future Perspective'.
