Jodhpur (Rajasthan), June 20 : A Jodhpur court today ordered framing of charges against the three persons accused of publishing poster portraying Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje as goddess Annapurna and Atat Bihari Vajpayee, L K Advani and Rajnath Singh as Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh respectively. The order came after veteran Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) leader Jaswant Singh's wife Sheetal Kanwar filed a complaint in the court about police inaction in the case.
She alleged that the poster depicting these images had hurt her religious sentiments, which was a crime under Indian Penal Code.
Kanwar alleged that on May 25 she had approached the police in this connection and they had not even filed a case. They were intentionally delaying the inquiry, hence she had filed a case in Jodhpur court on Tuesday.
In her complaint, she has alleged that the poster was printed by Pandit Hemant Vohra and was released by BJP legislator Suyakant Vyas on the completion of Raje Government's three years in office on April 15, 2007.
The poster has caused embarrassment to the BJP leadership who had urged Raje to denounce it.
