New Delhi, June 20 : Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Mahabir Prasad will inaugurate the first meeting of the national board for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) here today.
The day-long deliberations of the board is likely to address various concerns of MSMEs, like availability of timely and adequate credit; procurement policy; reservation of products for exclusive manufacture by MSMEs; simplification and harmonization of the applicability of the labour laws; delayed payments by buyers to MSMEs; skill training for weaker sections; skill development for SC/STs and their cluster development.
The board has been constituted as per the provisions of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006.
It plays pro-active role in facilitating and coordinating inter institutional linkages among the organizations of Central and State Governments for the growth and development of MSME.
