Bhind Nagar (Madhya Pradesh), June 20 : Superstitious villagers in Bhind Nagar in Madhya Pradesh are queuing up at a temple to drink 'blessed' water, which they believe cures illnesses and long-term ailments. Many who throng the temple believe that the water being distributed by a holy man and self-proclaimed faith healer camping at the temple can cure several illnesses.

The godman, Omgiri, distributes water from a well in the temple premises and villagers believe, the "blessed" water has medicinal powers.

And as bizarre as the treatment sounds, for the villagers it has worked wonders.

"It has cured me of stomach related problems. I am now completely fine. I have been drinking the water for the past three days," said Manorama Dubey, a villager.

Bahadur Singh, a diabetic, who has been regularly drinking the water, says he has benefited from the water.

"I was suffering from diabetes for the past five years. Maharaj ji assured me and I took the water regularly. Thereafter when I got my diabetes checked, it was normal like never before. Then I was assured that there was something special," he said.

The water is distributed daily between 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Omgiri says he is no doctor nor does he know anything of diseases but he simply cures the people with the water.

"This is not some kind of medicinal water. Those who want to take it can have it. It cures people of diseases ," he said.

Omgiri claims he was bestowed this special healing power by Lord Shiva and Goddess Durga.

The temple is dedicated to God Shiva.
