Mumbai/ New Delhi, June 19 : Income Tax department officials today conducted raids on the Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) and also conducted survey on its branches in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi and Kolkata.
However, an official release of the Finance Ministry did not mention the name of the commodity exchange.
The MCX has issued a notification asking its members to submit details of transactions of value over one lakh rupees.
The notification said: "All the members shall submit the details of their clients (a) who executed transactions of value exceeding Rs 1 lakh and (b) who are located in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai."
