Raipur, June 19 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief Rajnath Singh will arrive here today to discuss and finalise strategy for the 2008 Assembly polls in Chhattisgarh.
After tasting success in the recent bypolls held for the Assembly constituencies of Malkharauda and Khairagarh, the BJP has started preparations to beat anti-incumbency for retaining power in the State.
According to party sources, Singh along with other senior leaders will hold discussions on poll preparations, besides on several other issues including governance and development.
A core committee, comprising senior State leaders including state BJP President Vishnudeo Sai, Chief Minister Raman Singh, Home Minister Ram Vichar Netam, Revenue Minister B M Agrawal, MPs Ramesh Bais and Karuna Shukla, has been formed to chalk out a comprehensive poll strategy.
Besides, a two-day meeting will be held to evaluate the performance of ministers in the Raman Singh Cabinet.
According to sources, Raman Singh is expected to announce the changes in his council of ministers after holding consultations with the party chief. The term period of the BJP government completes in December 2008.
