India will not give up any part to China: Pranab

External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee today said that India would not give up any of its part that regularly sends its elected representatives to the State assemblies and the sovereign Parliament.

Shillong, June 16 : External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee today said that India would not give up any of its part that regularly sends its elected representatives to the State assemblies and the sovereign Parliament.

On being asked to comment on recent Chinese claims over Arunachal Pradesh, Mukherjee said: "It is extremely difficult for any Indian government."

Stressing on the need for infrastructural development in the northeast States, he said that India is aware of the geo-economic potential of the region, as a getaway to East and South East Asia.

Stating that the Association of South East Asia Nations (ASEAN) has been a major aim of the 'Look East Policy', Mukherjee said the sub-regional grouping like BIMSTEC, and SAARC are all aimed at regional cooperation to meet this objective.
