Tradeindia.com Launches India's 1st online B2B Discussion Forum

New Delhi, Delhi, India

In its endeavor to find ways in bringing the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) scattered across the country to a common platform, Tradeindia.com has come up with India's first and a one-of-its-kind Discussion Forum. The objective of the Discussion Forum is to ensure free-flow of views/ideas in a bid to ensure that even the smallest hurdle that lies in the path of the SMEs should be made known to not only others in the sector, but also to the government. Tradeindia.com has also set up a panel of experts to answer trade queries of SME holders. If anyone has a question related to trade, he can post the same in the Discussion Forum, which will immediately be answered by the experts.

It may be mentioned here that Tradeindia.com has recently released a study on Indian SMEs based on a survey it conducted jointly with industry body ASSOCHAM. Without doubt, there's no denying the fact that since SMEs are scattered all over the country, the hurdles faced by them differ from region to region, state to state. As such, an individual effort to persuade the government to look into the various drawbacks mostly go unheard and unheeded. There was always a need for a concerted effort to make the authorities listen to them and act.

Mr Bikky Khosla, CEO of Tradeindia.com said about this unique platform: "I noticed that there is an urgent need for a common ground where SMEs can exchange and voice their views and also help one another in solving the various problems that SME holders face from time to time. At a time when the government authorities seem to be doing very little or whatever they are doing is not being implemented rightly, I think we need to take charge of things in creating for ourselves an atmosphere that will help in enhancing our business."

"I have said before and will reiterate that it's time we shared all information -- small or big -- amongst ourselves. We need to share our views and experiences so that the same mistakes are not committed again and again. The challenges faced by the SMEs are numerous, but are we sharing our views on how we can remove them? The answer to that would be NO. I agree that even if you had a solution or an answer to a certain problem, till now there was no such platform where you could share or be heard by the concerned authority. Keeping this in mind, we have come up with this Discussion Forum," Mr Khosla added.

Businessmen too were upbeat about the Discussion Forum. "I have reasons to believe that this Discussion Forum will go a long way in bringing the whole SME sector to a common platform. For instance, there are several problems I face on new market research. At least we can now share information on prospective markets. We can share our experiences. This is great," says Jasim Akhtar, an exporter of garments based in the capital.

"The need of the hour is to be more pro-active. Let's not sit back and wait for things to happen, let's not just react to the changes happening in our business scenario. We need to take charge of things, to remove the barriers that come our way. This will be impossible unless we interact between ourselves. Let's do that," adds another SME holder who feels that this Discussion Forum will indeed make a huge difference.
