Former Goa Chief Minister Pratapsinh Rane was today elected the Speaker of the State Assembly.
Panaji, June 15 : Former Goa Chief Minister Pratapsinh Rane was today elected the Speaker of the State Assembly.
Rane's election was unopposed, as Opposition nominee Laxmikant Parsekar of the BJP and independent candidate Anil Salgaoncar withdrew their nominations just before the election.
"I am pleased to have a senior person like Rane as Speaker of the legislative assembly," Chief Minister Digamber Kamat said.
