Guruvayur, June 13: The managing committee of the Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple in Kerala today expressed its regret over the purification of the temple held after the visit of Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi's son.
The committee also announced a meeting would be convened in two months to discuss the temple entry and purification issue.
The panel took this decision after a complaint filed by Ravi's son Ravikrishna against the 'punyaham' or purification ritual done after his May 19 visit.
On June 11, Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthandnan had said the practice (temple purification) showed that caste discrimination was still prevalent in Kerala.
The temple authorities felt the ceremony was necessary, as Ravi's wife, Mercy, is a Christian.
