New Delhi, July 5 : Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has spoken to his British counterpart Gordon Brown, and has assured him of all possible help in its investigation of the aborted car bomb plot, in which two Indian doctors have been arrested.
Speaking at an interaction session with women journalists in the capital here today, Dr. Singh cautioned against labelling any particular community as terrorists, adding that it would create a new set of grievances.
Two Indian doctors, Dr. Mohd Haneef and Dr. Sabeel Ahmed, were arrested in connection with the London car bomb plot, which was successfully aborted by the police.
Both doctors hail from Bangalore and were close friends.
Dr. Haneef was arrested in Brisbane in Australia, while taking a flight to India, and Dr. Sabeel Ahmed was held in Liverpool in the UK.
Mohammed Hanneef came to Australia under a 457 visa, and is one of eight people arrested in the past three days for their alleged involvement in last week's car bomb attacks.
Haneef is a graduate of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and was employed as a registrar at the Gold Coast Hospital since September 2006.
Meanwhile, Dr. Haneef's detention has been extended by four days by an Australian court.
