Jamshedpur, July 4 : In a unique expression of love for pet dogs, a major automobile company here has set up a special graveyard for its guard dogs as a tribute to their loyalty.
Tata automobile Limited which administers a township in Jamshedpur has arranged space for dogs' grave to remember their contribution.
A.K. Verghese, who is in-charge of Tata Motors' Kennel Club, said: "The main motive behind the construction of this graveyard is to show our appreciation for the dogs' loyalty and dedication to their work."
The company has a kennel for its guard dogs. The graveyard is in the premises of the kennel and has a cemented pathway that takes the visitor to dogs' graves.
Each grave has a marble tombstone with inscriptions stating name of the canine and date of birth and death.
The kennel today has as 35 to 40 canines that are trained to guard company's premises.
Banna Gupta, a dog trainer, said: "There should be graveyards like this for dogs so that all dog lovers can express the love that they shared with the canines when alive."
