Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Tuesday said that private Blueline buses will be taken off the Capital roads by replacing them with low-floor high-capacity buses in a phased manner.
New Delhi, July 3 : Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Tuesday said that private Blueline buses will be taken off the Capital roads by replacing them with 'low-floor high-capacity' buses in a phased manner.
Dikshit's remarks come in the backdrop of increasing number of accidents on Delhi roads involving Blueline buses.
"Blueline buses will be removed from Delhi roads in a phased manner," Dikshit told reporters on the sidelines of a function, adding that the Blueline buses will be replaced by low-floor high-capacity buses.
In a major accident on Sunday, an over-speeding Blueline bus hit five cars resulting in death of a teenager in West Delhi.
