Rattled by her husbands death in the 1999 Kargil war, a woman in Gwalior committed suicide on Thursday.
Gwalior, July 26 : Rattled by her husband's death in the 1999 Kargil war, a woman in Gwalior committed suicide on Thursday.
Saraswati Rajawat's suicide coincides with the 'Kargil Vijay Divas' and her husband's death anniversary, making it a double tragedy for the family.
According to her family members, 45-year-old Saraswati, who was found hanging from the ceiling fan of her room, had become unstable after her husband's demise. They said depression could have led to take the extreme step.
"After my father's death, she had become mentally unstable. But we didn't know she would do such a thing," said Dheerendra Rajawat, Saraswati's son.
Police, meanwhile, are investigating the case although evidence suggested it was a case of suicide.
"Right now, on the basis of the evidence, we are treating it as a case of suicide but, we are investigating the case further," said Satya Prakash Chauhan, Investigating Officer.
