Hyderabad, July 25 : Satyam Computers General Managaer Vedula Satyanarayana was rescued by Andhra Police from Andhra Pradesh's Warrangal District, a day after he was kidnapped by unknown people.
On Tuesday,Satyanarayana (40) went missing after dropping his two daughtrers - Diksha (6 years) and Rishita (4) - at Geetanjali Devashray School at Sarojini Devi Road. As usual, he asked his car driver to park the car nearby and crossed the road to drop the children at the school.
When he did not return, his driver, called up Satyanarayana's wife Kiranmayee, who later lodged a complaint at Gopalpuram police station. The police registered a case under Section 354 (kidnapping) and took up investigations.
Their inquiries with the auto-drivers near the school provided the first clues. Auto-drivers told the police that they saw him being bundled into an Indica car by three persons.
Before lodging the complaint, Kiranmayee had made a call to her husband to find his whereabouts. Though he had told her that he was attending an urgent meeting at his office, the police found, with the help of the mobile company, that the call was received on Satyanarayana's cell somewhere near Bhongir in Nalgonda District.
Police said no one reported to have witnessed the kidnapping.
Gopalpuram Division Assistant Commissioner of Police YV Ramana said the main accused Venkanna and three others involved in the kidnapping were arrested.
According to police sources, they tracked the case by tracking down a ransom call that Satyanarayana's family received late in the evening.
Tracing the location to Nekkonda in Warangal district, local police teams rushed and surrounded a house where he was being held by the kidnappers. The police rescued him and took the four persons, including the main accused, into custody.
