UP identifies 34 terror-sensitive districts

Uttar Pradesh Parliamentary Affairs Minister Lalji Verma today said that at least 34 districts of the State have been identified as terror- sensitive.The Government has drawn a road map to counter the scourge and in this regard 39 special cells have been set up, Verma said while giving a reply in the Vidhan Sabha.

Lucknow, July 2 : Uttar Pradesh Parliamentary Affairs Minister Lalji Verma today said that at least 34 districts of the State have been identified as terror- sensitive.The Government has drawn a road map to counter the scourge and in this regard 39 special cells have been set up, Verma said while giving a reply in the Vidhan Sabha.

Commenting on the Indo-Nepal border security scenario, he said that 13 Nepal border units had been set up and Seema Suraksha Bal (SSB) personnel have been deployed along the border.

The sensitive identified districts are- Lucknow, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Mathura, Bulandshahar, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Agra, Aligarh, Ferozabad, Bareilly, Kanpur, Lakhimpur-Kheri, Baharaich, Gonda, Balrampur, Azamgarh, Siddharth Nagar, Gorakhpur, Maharajganj, Varanasi, Shravasti, Basti, Faizabad, Moradabad, Bijnore, Rampur, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar, Barabanki, Mau, JP Nagar, Baghpat and Mahamaya Nagar.
