Indore (MP), July 2 : Five passengers suffered minor injuries as a Jet Airways plane skid off the runway while landing due to slippery surface after rains, officials said on Monday.
The Jet Airways plane with 49 passengers and crew was on its way from Newelhi. The mishap took place around 7.50 pm on Sunday.
Injured passengers were provided first aid. One flight steward, who suffered spinal injury, has been admitted to the hospital.
The wheels of the plane broke away and its belly was fully damaged.
Collector of Indore, Vivek Aggarwal said arrangements are being made for onward journey of transit passengers.
"This is God's grace that all the passengers are safe. Indore bound passengers have already left and arrangements are being made for onward journey of other transit passengers through Jet Airways" said Aggarwal.
A probe has been ordered into the mishap.
The city has been receiving continuous rains since Saturday.
