Hindustan Latex Ltd has launched a paan-flavoured condom, targeting commercial sex workers.
New Delhi, July 19 : Hindustan Latex Ltd has launched a paan-flavoured condom, targeting commercial sex workers.
The company ran taste tests with sex workers, including prototypes with chocolate, banana and strawberry flavours, but the paan flavour came out tops.
"There are various flavours available in the country like we have rose, vanilla, and chocolate. But these are all coming from foreign flavours. One of the most accepted smell is the Indian smell. Paan flavour was the most accepted one, especially to meet the customers' requirement," said S.G. Sridhar, G.M. Marketing, Hindustan Latex Ltd.
Sridhar said the new product has been made keeping customer satisfaction in mind.
"The lubrication content is very high, because they (sex workers) will be using it very frequently. The normal quantity of lubrication in a condom is 350ml, and here it is going to be 550ml to 650ml," Sridhar said.
Sridhar also said the condoms would be first made available to sex workers. The public will have access to them in a few months.
