One person was killed and several others injured on Tuesday evening in landslides at different places in Darjeeling.
Darjeeling (West Bengal), July 18 : One person was killed and several others injured on Tuesday evening in landslides at different places in Darjeeling.
The injured had been shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Several homes were damaged rendering dozens of people homeless.
E Lepcha, a civil official said that two houses were fully damaged and one was partially damaged.
Meanwhile, traffic movement was also paralysed on the national highway as landslides cut off the Darjeeling from the rest of the country.
The State authorities have asked several residents to vacate their homes and shift to safer places, following threat of more landslides.
