Police in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, have released five youth form their custody after they were nabbed while hovering mysteriously around the Kashi Vishawanath Temple.

Varanasi, July 13 : Police in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, have released five youth form their custody after they were nabbed while hovering mysteriously around the Kashi Vishawanath Temple.

Sundar, Arif, Rashid, Wasim Ahmad and Dishad were declared innconet after undergoing interrogation.

According to the police, only one of the five had entered the temple."My elder brother's brother-in-law has come from Darjeeling along with a friend. For the time he was inside the temple, we were waiting for him outside. In the meantime, the police came and arrested us," claimed Rashid.

A K Pandey, Superintendent of Police said: "They placed submitted their mobiles and purses in the designated place. After entering the temple premises, Sundar went inside for a darshan, but rest waited at the gate. At that point of time, a police inspector had a doubt about them and asked their names. He grew suspicious and brought them to the police station."Such kind of religious places have been on the list of terror attack.

On March 7, 2006, one of the three explosions hit the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple in Varanasi while the aarti was in progress in which large number of worshippers participated.

Lashkar-e-Kahar, a Kashmiri Islamist militant group had claimed responsibility for the explosions that rocked Sankat Mochan temple and a railway station that killed at least 15 people and injured several others.
