Finance Minister P. Chidambaram will address the 23rd Conference of Chief Commissioners and Directors General of Income Tax to be held here on July 17 and 18.
New Delhi, July 13 : Finance Minister P. Chidambaram will address the 23rd Conference of Chief Commissioners and Directors General of Income Tax to be held here on July 17 and 18.
The annual two-day conference will deliberate upon strengthening the Tax Deduction at Source (TDS) mechanism, strategies for maximizing collection; reduction of arrears and widening of tax base.
The progress of computerization and the topic of information collection and monitoring mechanism will also be discussed along with the issue of human resource management.
Senior officials of the Finance Ministry will also attend the Conference. Minister of State for Revenue S.S. Palanimanickam will deliver the valedictory address.
