Raipur, July 13 : Youth Congress led by former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi and some other top leaders took to the streets here today to protest against the Raman Singh-led BJP government and charged it of being responsible for the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
"The present Government should be answerable for all the wrong policies, lack of political will and lack of direction. It should be made responsible fro the death of our brave police personnel and hundreds of tribals by the Naxalites," said Ajit Jogi.
Youth Congress national president Ashok Tanwar and head of the state unit Yogesh Tiwari were also present in the rally. Raising slogans against the State Government, Tanwar urged the people to strengthen the Youth Congress and oust the BJP government.
"We are carrying this protest and will continue to do so in future against the failure of the State Government. In future, a strong youth movement under the banner of Youth Congress flag would convey the message of Rahul and Sonia Gandhi among the general masses," said Tanwar.
However, police stopped the protest rally in midway. Barricades were put up to bar the protestors from marching ahead.
When the mob tried to become violent, tear gas and water cannons were used, though none of the protestors was injured.
