Naxalites blew up a Doordharshan television tower in Chintapalli village of Vishakhapatnam.
Vishakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), July 12 :Naxalites blew up a Doordharshan television tower in Chintapalli village of Vishakhapatnam.
Around 150 Naxalites attacked the tower, and blew it up using detonators, a senior police official said.
The Naxals also blasted a government guesthouse in the vicinity and twother buildings.
" Some buildings under Chintapalli police station were blasted. Four government buildings were targeted using locally made bucket landmines. Police is taking all necessary action," said Akun Sabharwal, Superintendent of Police, Vishakhapatnam.
On May 30, a control room of a State owned 24 MW power plant at Donkarayi was blown up in a Naxal attack.
About 50 armed-Naxals barged into the control room of the plant and triggered a blast by using explosives.
