Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav on Tuesday gave a clean chit to Railway Protection Force Deputy Inspector General Prem Jit Rawal, who has been accused of assaulting a woman IAS officer and her sister.
New Delhi, July 10 : Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav on Tuesday gave a clean chit to Railway Protection Force Deputy Inspector General Prem Jit Rawal, who has been accused of assaulting a woman IAS officer and her sister.
"The Railway DG has informed me that he did investigate the case. He has found nothing," said Lalu.
"Anybody else who wants to investigate the case can do so," he said, adding, "Whoever is found guilty will be punished".
Rawal reportedly in a drunken state assaulted the women while they were travelling in Sampark Kranti Express from Delhi to Patna on Sunday.
The two victims have filed a complaint with the Bihar Home Secretary, Afzal Amanullah.
He said the Railway Board, the Home Ministry, the RPF DG have been informed about the case.
"They and the Railway Police will take action," he said.
